Rosehill on the Road
During the Reimagine Rosehill redevelopment, we pioneered Rosehill on the Road, taking extraordinary performances out into the communities of Allerdale and Copeland.
In partnership with Manchester's Royal Exchange Theatre, we brought Black Roses to Maryport's Ewanrigg and Netherton Community Centre. Working with the Elias String Quartet we took a series of Beethoven concerts to Muncaster Castle, Wigton, Keswick and Hutton-in-the-Forest.We are now working with our local partners and similarly exceptional artists to create new Rosehill on the Road collaborations.
Other examples have included English Touring Opera's performances of the St John Passion and St Matthew Passion, the National Youth Chamber Choir and mezzo-soprano Victoria Simmonds, all of whom performed at St John's Church in Workington.
Thank you so much for getting our production of Black Roses well and truly out into the heart of the West Cumbrian community... From the wonderful people at Ewanrigg and Netherton Community Centre (two shows we will never forget) to the various students, youth groups and local residents who came to emotional performances and discussions at Lakeside and St Joseph's, we couldn't have been happier with the mix of people who saw the show.
