Free family fun day!

We're looking forward to throwing open Rosehill's doors for a big "welcome back" party in September. After 18 challenging months, we'll be hosting a free day of fun events and activities for all the family to come and enjoy.

You can expect a variety of live performances from an array of talent – both from West Cumbria and further afield. And among the highlights will be acoustic acts presented as part of the BBC Music Introducing in Cumbria showcase!

There'll also be crafts, entertainment, refreshments and much more.

Head to Rosehill between 11am and 5pm on Saturday 25 September to enjoy the engaging taster sessions, live music, and family entertainment. What better way to see in the autumn than with free fun and activities for all the family?

What to expect

Make the most of a free craft station offering an opportunity to create badges based on personal and unique designs - tailored to children and adults alike.

The local DisChord Choir who meet at Rosehill every week will showcase the talent around the West Cumbrian coast when they put on a performance of many favourite tunes. A special event not to be missed!

Keeping everyone on their toes will be the Northern Soul dance duo Sal & Pops. Learn new moves, brush up on the basics or watch with hilarity as children and parents get groovy to soul music. Sal & Pops will also stage an afternoon performance, displaying their fancy footwork and brand-new soul sounds.

And courtesy of BBC Music Introducing in Cumbria, live acts will be playing during the day featuring some of the best up-and-coming music talent from across the county.

Of course, what's a family fun day without snacks and drinks? A variety of options will be available to purchase, including children's food, and Messel's Bar at Rosehill will serve drinks and nibbles throughout the day.

Superb venue, clean, and the theatre is beautiful. Saw a film for the first time last night, sound and picture were awesome. Highly recommended.

A TRUE HIDDEN GEM

Absolutely fantastic food is served here, with a constantly changing menu.

Served by attentive and friendly staff in a beautiful environment and location.

I can not recommend this place enough, it's a must try if you enjoy good food at a very reasonable price.
