Volunteering with Rosehill is a fantastic way to meet new people, develop your skills, support your local theatre, and experience a range of activities and events for free! We welcome volunteers of all ages, including young people seeking pre-industry experience while in education.
We are always looking for enthusiastic individuals to support our work locally. Opportunities include ushering for live shows and film screenings, helping at the bar or box office, supporting our community activities, and maintaining our building to ensure a top-notch experience for visitors.
No experience is necessary as training will be provided – we just need your energy and dedication!

Ushers welcome audience members and guide them to their seats. They are the first point of contact during a show, and the friendly faces of Rosehill. If you enjoy watching films and shows, meeting new people and can think on your feet, this is for you!
Creative Assistants help our lead artists to deliver workshops to the public, and to community groups. You may interact with participants, encourage them to get crafty and help the artist to prep the art supplies. This is an ideal role if you are looking to gain experience and learn new ways of running creative workshops.
Maintenance Assistants help our duty managers and building manager to keep on top of odd jobs around the venue. This may include tasks such as grounds maintenance, legionella testing and painting. Training will be given. This role is ideal for anyone interested in building management, operations or maintenance.
At Rosehill, we collaborate on many projects within the community and offer different volunteering roles to go alongside. One of our main opportunities is at the ‘Welcome Hub’, which runs each Monday in Whitehaven Town Centre. At the Hub we work closely with Social Care organisations to deliver a warm, creative environment for residents to attend. Volunteers may help run the space, talk to residents and make sure they are comfortable, or assist with activities.
