Comedy: Simon Evans - Genius

All Simon Evans really wanted, since he was a small boy, was to be recognised by the world as a man of genius. Remaining thwarted thus far in this aim, Genius is his 'magnificently pessimistic' commentary on our society's decline into trivia, coming to Rosehill on Saturday 30 June at 8pm.

For all those wondering how we moved from the greatness of the past to mindless TV and 'motivational quotes about fish', join Simon Evans who, having decided he doesn't like this (or indeed his own) decline one bit, is determined to bend our ears on the subject.

You won't need to share Simon's politics to enjoy his point of view. Hilarious, scornful and razor-sharp, his unrelenting diatribe against the modern world and its descent into inanity will have you in stitches.

"Super-sharp wit" Time Out

"Wields language like a rapier" The Scotsman

"Please clap" Jeb Bush

Simon is a regular on Radio 4, with two series of his own show Goes To Market and regular appearances on The News Quiz, The Unbelievable Truth, Armando Iannucci’s Charm Offensive and he anchored and wrote seven series of the news satire The Way It Is.
