Theatre: When David Bowie Came to Rosehill - An Evening With Nicholas Pegg

Following advice from the Government for people to avoid public places including restaurants and theatres, Rosehill Theatre and The Green Room restaurant are closed until further notice and bookings have been suspended. We will reopen as soon as it is considered safe and sensible to do so.

Event information

Join Nicholas Pegg as he takes us on a journey to discover the fascinating connection between David Bowie and Rosehill. The story takes us back to 1968, when Bowie performed on the Rosehill stage with the legendary mime artist Lindsay Kemp. It was a collaboration which would make its influence felt throughout the rock star's glittering career, as we will discover in an illustrated talk with music and images, followed by a Q&A session.

Nicholas is one of the world's leading authorities on the life and work of David Bowie. He is the author of The Complete David Bowie, described by the artist's long-time producer Tony Visconti as "the best Bowie reference book one could ever hope for".

He has acted as a consultant and contributor to numerous projects, including the V&A Museum's exhibition David Bowie Is, the Royal Mail's 2017 issue of David Bowie stamps, and the BBC documentaries Five Years, The Last Five Years and Exploring 'Life on Mars?'.

In addition, Nicholas is a regular contributor to the Album to Album Bowie podcast and has hosted Bowie tribute events and radio specials as far afield as the USA and Australia.

Away from the world of David Bowie, his writing credits include theatre shows, audio plays, short stories, and the acclaimed concept album Decades, a collaboration with songwriter David Palfreyman.

He is also an actor, with credits including everything from Shakespeare to pantomime, Scottish opera to Doc Martin, and regular appearances as a Dalek in Doctor Who.
