We're excited to be working with talented photographer and teacher, Dave Wilson, to bring you this brand new 6-week photography course.
The course is aimed at those who may already know a little about their Mirrorless or DSLR camera but want to learn some more advanced techniques. Experienced teacher, Dave Wilson, will guide you deeper into subjects including; HDR, Off-camera Flash, Star Trails and Multiplicity with more use of software such as the practical use of Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
Also, brand new to this course you will touch on the use of AI which is increasingly helping photographers get the best from their photos.
The course comprises of a total of 11 sessions over 6 weeks (classroom-based Tuesday evenings at Rosehill 18:30-20:30;
20th, 27th May
3rd, 17th, and 24th June
1st July
Plus, five weekend field trips around the local area.

Firstly and very importantly, everyone gets their fair share of help. So don’t worry if you feel you need some extra time, you’ll get it. All of the sessions include tips on how to improve your technique, learn some of the theory involved in the photos you are taking, what to look out for, and loads of other great stuff which will help you improve your skills.
You’re welcome to bring a laptop computer, if you use one, to follow along during the classroom sessions.
For Practical Photography for the Serious Amateur, a DSLR or Mirrorless camera is ideal, although people have completed the courses successfully with Bridge or Compact cameras. Recommended additions are a Tripod and ND filter (Neutral Density) for some field trips.
Dave Wilson is a talented photographer with a wealth of wedding and freelance photography experience. West Cumberland born and raised, he has worked commercially since 1999 and started running photography courses in 2008 which have helped hundreds of people improve their photography skills. Dave is excited that the amazing Rosehill (his words) will be the venue for this latest course!
