The Welcome Hub
The Welcome Hub - a space for community connectivity, creativity and well-being.
After the important introduction of the weekly Warm Hub which began in October 2022 and ran until the end of March 2023, Rosehill will continue to deliver a weekly space every Monday, 10am–1.30pm, at the United Reformed Church in Whitehaven.
The newly branded Welcome Hub will continue to be delivered in partnership with Rosehill, Cumberland Council, and Copeland Wellness Service. The space will bring people together to support community cohesion, connectivity, and well-being, and reduce social isolation.
Each week we will continue to offer face-to-face support, advice, and guidance from groups and services as well as have opportunities to volunteer and/or be involved in community projects beyond the Hub. Cumberland's social prescribing team will be there each week to signpost the community to help from groups and services in the borough – alongside services including Copeland Wellness Service, and others.
The Welcome Hub will function as a space for:
social prescribing support
information on local support services
health and well-being advice
creative activities
The space will be welcoming, and open until 2pm. All ages are welcome to attend, although those under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Food and hot drinks will be available for free throughout the day, with donations welcome to help us keep providing what we do.
The Welcome Hub runs until July 24 (closed on bank holiday Mondays).
Daniel Whitehouse, Creative Director at Rosehill, said: "We want to create a welcoming and relaxed environment at The Welcome Hub. Where everyone can access support from services to enhance well-being and get actively involved in creative activities."
"We hope that on the back of these sessions, participants will have the confidence to engage in more socially prescribed activities and cultural activities in the area".
