The KIND project is Rosehill's community initiative. It aims to unite communities, support well-being, and reduce isolation in Whitehaven and surrounding areas.
What is KIND?
The project is led by two Community Producers and a team of dedicated Community Creatives. They deliver various projects that blend creative well-being, social prescribing, and community collaboration by, for, and with the people of Whitehaven and beyond.
How do we deliver the projects?
We support, involve, and enable communities to collaborate with us and participate in creative activities such as workshops, events, festivals, and drop-in sessions, which bring communities together.
These are always supportive and safe spaces to aid everyday wellness and encourage kindness, particularly for communities who face daily challenges and might not have easy access to opportunities on their doorstep.
Each project, be it as part of a wider community or through one of our KIND Family initiatives, provides equitable spaces which foster togetherness and expressiveness. Rosehill recognises its role in creating spaces where communities can be together and feel nourished. We believe that artists are crucial to making these intergenerational environments and that democratic art-making practices prioritising communities' freedom, autonomy, and imaginations, experienced in community with each other, can develop experiences rich in creativity, learning and connection.
We are partnering with Cumberland Council Social Prescribing teams, Copeland Wellness Service, Everyone Here, UCLan and a collective of communities to deliver the project.
