Name Camilla Howard
Age 16
Where do you live? Wilton
Where do you work or study? I am studying performing arts, business and English language at West Lakes Academy Sixth Form, Egremont.
How long have you volunteered for Rosehill? Since November 2019.
Why did you decide to volunteer? Rosehill has a great reputation for providing a wide variety of acts, also excellent opportunities for the local community to experience the arts in a welcoming environment.
Main duties Volunteering at Rosehill includes greeting guests and showing them to their seats, selling merchandise, answering any questions, directing people around the theatre should they need help, and often discussing the acts and the history of Rosehill.
What do you enjoy most about the role? I love having the opportunity of seeing all the acts Rosehill has to offer, interacting with the guests and the welcoming, positive atmosphere.
Share with us a memorable experience since you've been one of our volunteers My most memorable experiences so far are selling merchandise with the comedian Alexis Dubus after watching his hilarious 'Marcel Lucont' performance as he was very friendly and fun to chat with, also T.Rextasy's performance (the T. Rex tribute band) as everybody was up dancing and singing together. It was a fantastic performance, thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
What do you do in your free time? I love performing! I have been part of a dance and theatre school 'theatre crazy' since the age of four where I have been performing and coaching with my sister and friends.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself we might be surprised to learn! I love fashion and designing! If I'm not performing or studying I enjoy designing, drawing and creating style inspirational boards and notebooks.
What does Rosehill mean to you? It's an escape from school and everyday life, as it gives me an insight into the performing and entertaining world, an opportunity to gain experience within a theatre in such a lovely environment.
What would you say to anyone thinking about becoming a volunteer? If you like the arts and you enjoy meeting a range of different people and appreciate talent and performing, you'll love volunteering at Rosehill and I would encourage anyone interested to come and join us!
